We plan to have five discussion sessions during three days. Two on Friday, two on Saturday and the final one on Sunday. As usual panel discussion opens questions and then - brings more questions
We would like to reflect on hacker's and its culture. Here are the topics and questions:
- illegal activities and piracy.
many laws today suck. big time. what of many common illegal activities (by law) today are just plainly ok? what hackers should do about that? what is the ethics of hacking? what is the ethics of law in information-communication-technology today? how to fight for digital rights? legally? or not?
EthicsOfDeathWhatLawWhatPirates - more on this topic
- autonomy/ethics related to money.
how should we bring money to hacker's community when necessary? what are the 'good' sources, what are the 'bad' sources? is it ok that YAXWE got money from Open Society Institute to cover costs of hackers from Eastern Europe? do we need to have different participation fees for hacker's camps related to where were participants coming from? how to earn money hacker's way?
how to deal with "social relations involving authority or power"? what are the good/relevant forms of gathering together radical individuals? what are the relation of freedom and society? what is virtual and what is real in politics? should hackers care about politics? do they?
who can say who is a hacker? who can say for who can say who is a hacker? who can say for who can say for who can say who is hacker? what makes history of hackers? is it just america who can produce hackers semantics clouds? what is lowest common denominator of meaning of hacker's identity? how common hacker from Eastern Europe looks like? is he/she funny? do they know more about america or about socialism?
